Totally love this, great sounds, the drums are AWESOME, and all the slightly distorted melodies does slightly contribute to making the clear sound alot more clear, love the feel that gives away forsure.

Way to go on structure, dynamics and soundquality. I really liked this, ima fav and dl ^_^ On the ipod it goes! =D Great job ^_^ U guys got talent ;)

Thanks for the review on this one, Ethalyn! The drums are indeed awesome. You have Renoak to thank for that, he's ridiculous when it comes to that. Also the (guitarish) melodies that you mention are his additions as well. He really takes what I wrote and adds to it tenfold.

I definitely agree with you on this one's structure. The other song was more of a different direction and I think we ended up liking this one better haha. This is really a culmination of both of our skills and we were really surprised at how well they gelled.

Funny story actually, we'd been working on this for about week when we decided to scratch everything and start over; this is the result. We love it.

Thanks for dropping by again and thanks for the download. Hopefully you'll stop by for our upcoming songs (we've got some new stuff up our sleeves!).

Holy robo crickets this is awesome!

Love the progression this song goes through, although not long, its by far long enough to give me multiple eargasms! one for each star! Anywhos, love all the sounds, the dynamics are JUST where they are supposed to be. The rythmic melodies progressed perfectly, structure is perfect. You added some sounds here and there, making this 02:00 minute long song worth it ;)

Dude i was JUST reviewing one of your songs! You might be the king of dance but Im the king of voice!! WHAT NOW HUH?!1 HAHAHAHA!!...

ok im getting carried away.

Great!

I love the house feel you captured here man, sounds like uplifting version of "The Fray", and that other band that always sings the same tunes, uhm, Miley Cyrus had a crush on the vocalist i believe was what MSN Today told me this morning... something like that, what the hell was the name of that band??? Damnit...

On to the review!

Love it, the simple, fresh house feel. The beat is very tight, the only thing i just doesnt sit right is the synth/melody sound. I think its just a tad bit to high, and that it sometimes ruins the flow of the song man. And besides, this is pretty much 6 minutes of the same buildup. I mean im usually not one to complain about repetitive songs, but damn bro! Maybe work on adding more stuff along the way, and just making sure everything stays dynamic :)

Hey thanks a lot for your time. I'm trying not to go for the repetitive but the lazy person in me tells me to copy and paste a lot.

Nice one ^_^

Really cool man, i liked the opening, cool effect automations. The only thing i would have to say pulled the intro down is the breakbeat, i really fucking loved the melos and the dark almost industrial feel you had, but i just feel that the beats/drums in this song was incomplete. They didnt really follow an easy pattern, sounded to complex and the sounds could have been better chosen and mastered in my opinion.

I love all the instruments you use for your melody through the song, they at the same time make it interesting and original, like it ;)

The structure i didnt really follow, just an up down pattern that didnt reaaaaally make sense in my head, but dudes, totally love the melody, and the idea! =D And remember, just my personal opinion, maybe you could revisit it or something? I just gotta stress it how much i love the basic idea of this tune :)

Nice melodies, and i love the feel. It just could use some more work on the beats and the structure, both of those factors made the song, well confusing...

Thank you for your time.

ApproachingNirvana responds:

Thanks for the constructive review. I'll admit that the structure on this piece is a bit all over the place. Our more recent submission, "Wrecked by Deja Vu," follows a more generic structure that should ease your pain from this one. The beats were a challenge to get in conjunction with the orchestral parts and we put a lot of work into that. Before progressing on this song, I think we'll give that some more attention in order to fix some of the things you mentioned.

Hopefully our other submissions won't confuse you as much. Thanks again for the review!

:)...

Hey man, i just wanted to drop a review telling you thank you for putting all of this together, its really a nice way to bring artists together here on NG... nice work :)

Very good man :)

Wow, i liked this ALOT... the intro was very beautifull, and the pan flute was amazing ;) Although, the only thing i would have to say was out of order in this one, is that the sound is WAY to scattered, i think the mastering is just a tiny bit off... a little tip if to maybe turn the kick slightly up (in volume, and make it sound more like a kick, sounds very weak atm), and maybe to make sure that everything stays proportionate, the overall sound atm is as mentioned very scattered, and sounds like you used Soundgoodizer? Now if thats not the thing you use, i think its may just be slightly overcompressed...

But dude, i really love your note progressions, and your melodies are off the hook ;)

Just give mastering another look maybe? And try use a different set of compressors and EQ/master the kick just slightly different, to make it pop out more.

Nice work, but mastering is just a tiny bit of in my opinion :)

Thank you for your time.

Wow, pretty great man! ;)

I liked the intro ALOT, with the breakbeat, really great stuff there. I definatly liked the way you used the vocals to make a stutter feel there :) Although, i think the music may paused to many times in 1 minute, like you first had the breakbeat, then you had the slightly harder/faster feeling part, and THEN you paused it entirely with the vocals... maybe next time you should think about the structure a tiny bit more in the intro? Now dont get me wrong, it sounds great, i just think the breaks/pauses in the intro wore it down slightly :)

Dude, totally love the autotune, funny that you use it now actually, because i am remixing Tell Me Why by Nordic Stars together with an irl friend of mine, and i to am experimenting with autotune for the first time ;) Totally love it, a little hard to get a hang of but it was worth it! Do i also hear some VEC3 samples in there? I just got the pack and i LOVE it!

I would have to say that 03:21 was the greatest moment in this song, and to be honest its the greatest finish i ever heard on Newgrounds i think ;) It was very catchy, and i loved that you just used everything at ones rather than waiting with hihats and claps in that last part!

I like the Rob Mayth feel over it, and how you didnt copy him, alot of people want to sound as good as him, but few just incorporate his ideas and mix some of their own, i respect that man ;)

Awesome work, keep it going ;)

Thank you for your time.

"Btw, keep an eye open for the Tell Me Why Remix dude, theres guitar in it, that's all im going to say! x) It'l be up next week ;)"

nal1200 responds:

Will do, my man!

I don't has VEC3, but I do have the first two collections. I've messed around with those two for so long that I can remember how most of the numbers sound lol.

Yeah, there were originally more pauses, but i've decided to take the majority out. I was originally going for the "silence" feel, but it didn't set well with the pickups for the chorus.

Anyway thanks for the review! Shoot me a PM when your track is out!

Damn mate, awesome!

I love it, no long review here, it sounds awesome ;)

tijnn responds:

Thanks alot! ;D

Nice ambient man :)))

I loved pretty much everything in this song, i would have to say that the only mistake i hear is that the drums might be just a tiny bit to high, but just my opinion ;) And don't get me wrong, this song is by far the best you ever made, there's just nothing stopping your progression man, your the most original, newcreating and awesome artist i have ever heard on NG... Music is you man :)

I loved the opening, gotta say that that pad you used is REALLY heavy, and i love it, when the drums came, i cumd, seriously, exept for being to high in volume those drums gave me multiple eargasms, nice job on them!

And btw, that "check it out" vocal, BAD MOVE, about 99% of artists here on NG used 'em, including me (BIG MISTAKE! xD!!!)

But dude, seriously, well done ;)

Awesome, i fav'd it ;) And i'll DL it!

Thank you for your time.

tijnn responds:

Hahaha well, you know, i personally don't like it when i hear it on other tracks etc, but when you manipulate it a bit it's not a bad thing in my opinion. it's more about how it's used than what it says.

Thanks alot for the really confidence lifting review though Beatsource, thanks a bunch.

And about the drums... Well that's just how i like it, it's a bit breakcore / glitchcore-ish in therms of the drums... And in that musical direction, drums just stand out alot.

That's just what i like. ;)
