cool video game remix

cool song, love the short intro where you use a short voiceclip and just go boooooom! :P very cool song, loved the transissions (sry if mispell) sounds like you put some work into those, very cool:) the part when that chick goes on about nerding was great ;-)

SkyMarshall responds:

Yeah thanks a lot man! Trancissions is one of the more fun things to make when producing music. It kinda makes or breaks a song if the trancission is good and introduced the chorus in a good way. The nerding chick was HELL to make. Some old voice-synthesizer dolled up something aweful with effects - but it finally worked and sounded somewhat natural ... Thank you, kind sir!

cool feel

this has more of an industrial/acid feel over it than your other songs,
not saying it IS acid but:P very cool song, how do you get your voice clips? would want to do something new in my upcoming songs and voiceclips sounds really cool, another great song mate, ive dl'd them a long time ago, and enjoyed them for a long time, but i havent reviewed til now:)

SkyMarshall responds:

Thanks man=) You picked up on the dirty industrial sound, which is good. Remember that is what I aimed for when making this. Anyway, I use a loopback feature on one of my mixers to record from various media. For this song I just ripped the "Fire in cryogenic compartment" from the beginning of Alien 3. Then I cleaned up the background music and/or ambient using various tools from software I got.

Glad you got around to leaving a remark ... appreciate it :)

cool

wow, you got the same vocal vst plugin as me, lol...im using it in my new song xD i hope you dont mind?:P well, really cool song, this is one of your best, love around 2:00 mins i realised that i got a long way to go before reaching this, great job man, love the tunes in this one, and cool drums and such, very cool song, good work:)

SkyMarshall responds:

Vocal VST you say? Im a little lost here, cause there is no vocal vst involved. (if you dont meen the "take control" and "energy"-samples ofcourse :) And no, then I dont mind - their royalty free for everyone! Hehe! Glad you like it. And just keep on making music - and the skills come gradually. You just got to love what you do and try new things you dont know how to do .... until you learn it. (yeah that made sense:P)

Thanks again lad =)

Cascada doesn't game! xD
Thank you. :3

Presamples.

This was very boring, and you use presampled claps, a good idea is to not make the buildup to long, and not just add one effect after another using the same notes, then the song will easily get boring, and make more interesting drums, turning down the hihat should help alot.

Neonman5 responds:

Yeah, pretty much. The main aim was for me to just muck around with the program and get used to it (FL Studio), and I thought that if I were to upload a bland and boring piece such as this I might get some advice, or criticism, either way to help me understand what needs improving.

My personal favorite

Well, this is by far my favorite song made by you, i play warcraft III alot on LAN, and on battlenet by myself, really nice remix:) nice kinda arpegios (whatever its called) you use, if it is arpergios, maybe you made them yourself, and if you did, nice!...

well you really managed to keep the tune of the game, this reminds me of warcraft, dah its a remix, but its a nice remix which manages to keeps it purpose, to honor the original:) the marching part around 1:40 i think is the coolest part:) great work:)

SkyMarshall responds:

Really? This is your favorite? I've always thought this would be the least downloaded ones because of it's strange build-up and melancolic sound. Not you're average dance-tune really. So AWESOME that you like it =)

The arpeggio you mention is not an arpeggio really, it's sequenced manually. It was supposed to be the songs main bass-line, but then it evolved and become a second melody who carried the percussion and backing the bass up instead. And yes, the marching would be my favorite part too ... it was hell to create. The only thing in there which is as close to the original as you get.

So I appreciate the long review, the 10 and the fact that you like it =)

love your voice clips:)

Man i love how you put in voice clips in your music, you make really interesting remixes and catchy tunes, great job on this one:) i basicly like the work, the tiny details and the entire specter of effects and different sounds, the pitched bells added a really nice feel to the song:) the main melody i also have to give creds for, nice bends which made it interesting, and at 1:30 or something you turned it up a notch with adding sort of a rythmic synth background, love it:)

-Beating-Source-

SkyMarshall responds:

Thanks man=) I realise it's strange to combine Half-Life and old euro-dance - but it is also fun to make it work somehow. Glad you like it man =) Thanks for the 10, the kind words and the long review :)
